I can understand if this is not a reasonable question so please ignore this or let me know if I am asking inappropriately for a valuation.

An acquaintance of a friend has inherited two accordions, one acoustic (which is easy to deal with), one a Roland FR2. The FR2 was an unusual model. I've advised that this would have some value so not to just give it away, my question is whether I can say roughly how much value? I have googled it and found prices offered, all well over $1000. I haven't found a price that I know has actually been paid. I was thinking that as this is an old model prices may have fallen lately and I wondered if there is a reasonable way to estimate?

Yes the FR-2 is an older model V accordion. These were produced for the intention make a V accordion model for the use of a beginning accordion student. They worked well for their use intended but never became popular in the US but, more popular in Europe.
Its a well made digital for the use intended, but here in the US FR-2s sat on dealers shelfs gathering dust an wound up selling for much less than their original price tag.
Well thats the negative, but really they are well made for the use intended, and a buyer will need a local Roland dealer to (in-case s--t happens) will be able to have the parts and service it.
And a dealers offer such as this ---

Most helpful, thank you - I never thought of looking on You Tube.

Hello Matt,

Some data points: 2 years ago, there was a local Craigslist (San Francisco area) listing an FR-2b for $1200. A friend of mine bought it for $800. Last year, a lady listed an FR-3b (no speaker) for $1400. It took 3 her months of continuous listing and keeping dropping the price to sell it, I think, for $1000.

Great, also very helpful, thanks very much.

I paid around $750 for mine (in decent used condition) and a real bargain . I also have the 3X and eventually parted with the FR2 but I regret selling it off. Plugged into an amp it keeps up with it`s bigger brothers.

Great, I think we are getting enough info to establish a sensible price range, much appreciated.
