Hi all, just seen an advert on AliExpress for new Roland fr8xb accordions for £383.35, carriage free!!!!
Obviously this is a scam or they've missed a zero off the price.
I was under the impression that AliWxpress is a reputable Chinese firm
In my perception as a returning customer, AliExpress is reputable. Note that it is a marketplace, more strictly so than Amazon.
Among the vendors on AliExpress I've seen a wide variety. About a year ago, there were vendors offering a certain synthesizer at reduced prices. Trusting Ali and (as a second line) my credit card supplier, I ordered it. In one case (I have forgotten the order), Ali cancelled the deal in some 24 hours (despite the time-zone difference) for waiting too long, in the other case even my attempt to pay (to Ali) was blocked. These vendors appeared to me to be buyers of left-overs, maybe making a quick buck in good faith, maybe trying to sell stuff "fallen from lorries".
A bit later last year, a vendor (of something I have forgotten) said that he was unable to send the goods - which seems remarkable if you trade on a marketplace. He maintained his willingness to refund me via PayPal (minus costs), even though I know for a fact that Ali holds your payment until you have confirmed reception of the goods (or until a month after you could have received them). This time, I had to complain with Ali that the vendor himself said that he couldn't send the goods. But ultimately, I have never lost money through Ali, except the one time that I cancelled my dispute as the problem hadn't been with the vendor, but with the carrier.
Note that I have also had issues elsewhere!
With my above words in mind, you might as well try to buy. Just don't expect any after-sale support...
