Some of the buttons of my friend's FR-2 are kind of sticky. Their action is not smooth. It is noticeable particularly when playing pieces with fast movement.

What can I do the smooth the action? Can I use electronic contact cleaner?

First of all is it a FR-2 or FR-2b and is it Treble or Bass side ???

Sorry for not being clear. It's an FR-2b, and the buttons in question are on the treble side.

By all means the 2b should be looked at by a Roland Tech. The keyboard assembly is a sealed one piece unit and if dirt or liquid is present under the buttons it can be cleaned easily . But if dirt or some liquid is not causing the problem the keyboard assembly will have to be replaced.

I was afraid this was the case. Thanks, Jim.
