I want to get my accordion Scottish musette tuned - does anyone know of someone who can do this?, preferably in the Yorkshire area

probably not worth doing unless yours is a veryhigh quality expensive box. on a 120 bass there are over 500 reeds to retune!

probably better to buy a box with desired tuning!

The Music Room at Cleckheaton should be able to put you in touch with a tuner.

Is it LMMM but not wild enough? What accordion make & model is it?

Surely it's only the RH outer "M" reeds that need re-tuning. So on a 44 note box that's only 88 reeds.

And even better as youre only likely to have 41 notes... :)
Yes - ish -hence my question - however on a(n?) LMMH it will entail a new set of middle reeds & block... and tuning, which will be... £poss more than the accordion is worth.

to give true Scottish musette sound both the low and high mmm reeds would probably need retuning .A reasonable starting point is something in the region of -22 + 25 i.e not the same + & -.. The tuning is not the same throughout the length of keyboard either. For good examples of Scottish tuning try youtube melodeonman52 (Ian cruishanks on shand morino box)

Many thanks for your comments, not as simple as I first thought and more expensive!. Looks like it will be better to just change the accordion.
