Hello All,

I owned a SEM Ciao for a few years and traded it (and a few other accordions) for a new acoustic accordion with midi by Master Productions. I found that there was a problem in the Ciao's accordion bass sounds. If I held a button down for more than a fraction of a second, the sound changed. It was almost like all the reeds except one cutting out.

The Master midi that I now own doesn't seem to do that, but the lists of sounds for the Master and the Ciao are identical. So, I wonder if there is a connection between Logic System, which produced the Ciao midi and Master?

I'd appreciate it very much if somebody here can clarify this for me.

Thanks.

Alan

The Ciao had a problem with the pressure sensitive velocity switches. A good move to dump it.

Well, thats not the reason why I dumped it. At the time, I had three other boxes, including a 12-bass that I couldnt get my granddaughter interested in playing, although thats why I originally kept it. The other two consisted of a Titano with a 17-inch treble keyboard (too small for me) and a Pancordion Video that was identical to the one I played as a kid. And then, there was the Ciao, which had the problem I wrote about, not the problem Jim D described. When I found out that my Ciaos problem was due to bad original samples, it had to go.

Id still be interested in finding out if theres a link between Logic System and Master, whether its sharing technology or some other arrangement. I still think the Masters sounds are better than the Logic System (Ciao,) but the lists are identical and that makes me suspicious. For my money, though, nothing beats Ketron sounds (are you listening, Bugari EVO?) But thats another thread ...
