I have changed to a new HP desktop, leaving my old one behind with the operating JAVA Set Editor. I can't get a current Set Editor to successfully download from Roland. My last release was 2012. Has anyone updated the Set Editor lately?
Thanks for any info,
Craig

Maybe not the same, but I had problems downloading Java set editor a while ago for an FR8x.
I eventually got it to work downloading from another source.
It seemed there are various places you can download from and they don't all seem to work.
Sorry, can't be more precise as I don't have the FR8x now and can't remember which one worked.

Thanks for your reply. I still have a thumb drive with sets on it, although I don't know what the sounds will be when I push buttons.
I'll poke around for an alternate source. Good enough.

download.. select the line item you want, click to acept the terms and then it
allows you to download the software

works fine.. lots of stuff there to download besides the set editor too

as a secondary possibility, oftentimes today a download site is set
up by very young programmers, and they often do not account for
older browsers, computers, OS, etc. where pop-ups might rbun into
interference.. and of course the "download button" often will not
highlight or even appear until you accept the "terms"

in other words, those whippersnappers assume we all have the
latest stuff with security settings that embrace everything

so try a different browser, lower your security setting to allow pop-ups,
try opening in an incognito window with all settings allowed, or
simply download it with your tablet or smartphone, then transfer
it onna stick (chrome devices seldom block pop-ups)

I'll give that a try. Thank you

I'll troubleshoot Java until I get it right. Thanks
It took me some time to clean up the old artifacts that were getting in the way, making certain I had the current Java and Set Edit, and relying on the patience that I have developed as I am seeing the shadows of 80 over the horizon. But I finally got the Java 2025 and the Set Edit 2025 to shake hands and now I can spend the rest of my days tinkering with new sound combinations.
Thank you JerryPH and Ventura! I don't get on this platform very often, but I am sure glad I'm a member. 😊👍🪗🎶
