Solen glimmar...

Choices...
It could be written as is on a Free Bass accordion or one can play the accompanying chords as indicated in the notation.

I think accordion accordion scores have something simmilar to the octaves in this score. The higher notes would be the chords, I think.

It well could be... depends on 2 people... the one that wrote it, and the one that plays it.
That is the nice thing about music! :)

Harrytulipan: I would describe the dance in your post as being close to a minuet, although it is leaning towards a polka too (if that's possible in one tune.)
Scottish Accordionist, Bert Shorthouse, recorded a tune called ‘The Bellman’ in 1974. It’s got a Scandinavian feel about it too and I can’t make my mind up if there is a connection.

The tune you posted sounds like a schottis or reinlender.

Minuet? Perhaps an anglais or allemande.
All I know is that Bellman wrote a barcarole.
He based it on a late reinesance melody.

I found this version of the tune with people dancing to it:

Harrytulipan: A Minuet was the wrong choice since they are normally in 3/4 time. I meant to convey the message that it felt like a tune that would be played in higher places for an aristocratic assembly.

I see. To me it sound a bit like a folk song.
It all depends on how you perform it, I suppose.
Bellman performed for Gustaf III but he probably did a lot of silly stuff. He reminds some people of a jester.
