hi

i tried to use this today to upload a new recording but it keeps taking me to a choose file to upload page :x

i can listen to tunes and appear to be able to navigate round site - i use the free version

i have used different browsers

anyone aware of issues or having similar issues or any ideas :|

(also possible suggestions welcome of another quick way to upload a tune to share with minimal equipment if soundloud doesnt work) :?:

regards

:geek:

Hi Dave You can use the 'upload attachment' facility bottom left in the post/reply; browse to the file MP3 or paste in it's name/address, ensure it isn't too big, suggest below 1mb but not sure of the actual limit.

maybe i wasnt 100% clear but i was trying to use soundcloud to record a tune whilst i play it

as its not working i'm stuck :?

Well you can record the song in freeware like audacity, or using windows media player etc and upload it to here doing what I said. I don't know about Sound Cloud as I don't use it for recording.

audacity was a good tip as allowed me to record tunes - though dont fully understand it yet

i was going to share a tune here but it wont allow me due to way i saved file

its loaded as Wave Sound (.wav) - im would like to know if possible if there is a simple way to convert this saved file to another compatible saved file

the tune is less than 3 mins so not that long

You can use Audacity to save as mp3. Try "save as" from the menu options.

For clarity: There is no 'save as' in Audacity, only 'save project as' which doesn't allow you to select the format.
You use 'export' to save as a music file. If you saved the project in audacity, open it again, file/export/mp3 from the drop down/folder/name/save.
If you didn't save the project, then open audacity/file/import/ browse to the .wav/open .. gets it back in audacity.. then do as above.

thanks

did this but when try to upload mp3 file here says

The file is too big, maximum allowed size is 1 MiB :(

Good, making progress then: When you 'export' you are offered a box out to choose format, 3 buttons bottom right the options button and you can select the quality - have a fiddle there to lower the quality until less than 1mb... look forward to hearing it.. :ugeek:
