The ending for primavera is a glorious section of strings that take over from the mellow piano melody. It's powerful and awesome.

I want to capture as much of that energy in a free bass accordion. I believe the instrument is capable of pulling it off. This is the starting point. I could do a lot more wrt dynamics, left have rhythm and tempo.

Rockin' that free bass again. That's a new kind of accordion that I've only been made aware of since joining the Accordionists forum. I'm really interested in the possibilities.

It's fantastic. I'm still getting used to the dimensions but this is an awesome machine. It has the older converter design that is slider based. It has pros and cons.
Pros:
1)The switch between free bass and stradella modes feels solid. I've already broken one of the newer switches in a different accordion. The new design I had is very fragile IMO. The older system is just like the other register switches.
2) the stradella registers have more variety. In the newer system, the all stradella switches will have the deepest register in it and it feels too deep with no variety. On this older design, I've got contrasting options.

Cons:
1) slider based design makes the accordion slightly larger because the bass reed blocks are bigger in order to accommodate an extra set of holes for the free bass slider.
2) the free bass range is limited to only 52.

Other than the converter design, I also love the cathedral mode which is enabled by the quint tuned fifth set is reeds. It makes the accordion sound so good.
