No advanced recording this time. Just a simple camera recording for once :)
This is from an old Nintendo 8 bit game from 1980s called The Battle Of Olympus and this is my version of the Arcadia theme from that game. Hope you enjoy it (if you dont see the videos, click the Watch on youtube link):

Here is the original;

You probably get this question a lot... why do you use the accordion upside down?
It does not negatively affect your playing (obviously, from the video) but it is highly unusual.

Nice track, and well played. Must be especially difficult with the accordion inverted, or is that just what we right handers think?

My late father wasn't left handed, but I remember he played the harmonica "upside down" with the high notes on the left. Don't think he would have had the patience to try the same with an accordion!

I was the one that asked that a while back as well. Hes left handed, and indeed plays all his instruments backwards. I know a couple of left handed people that play accordions in the standard manner, but as strange as it looks, it just works for him. :)

What I think would be really funny is if say one of his friends came over to visit, wanted to play on his accordion and while putting it on in the standard manner, found the straps were upside down... lol

Good job on the video game song too. :)

Thanks!
I think it is just what you think since I think the same back at you. Right handed style seems impossible for me when I think about it :P Would be nice to master them both though.
It has some consequences, especially when it comes to the diagonal alignment of the buttons that is made for right handed people. Makes some of the fingering almost impossible to do fluently and perfect, but with practise it can be good enough at least :)

JerryPH explained it all for me ;) I've actually experiences whan you talk about there with the straps. That was a funny reaction!
Thank you!

I guess playing the piano is out of the question unless you play sitting on the lid. Nice song by the way. I guess it's meant to have a Greek feel to it. Not sure that comes across with the accordion.

Just got to this, great. It's funny how often the world of games turns up suitable music for accordion. Did you work out the arrangement yourself or can you get sheet music?

Glenn: Haha, actually when I play the piano I do it the standard way and that works well :D

Matt:
Haha, yes. Maybe because old game has this square beepy sound and while using the clarinet/piccolo sound on the accordion, its kind of similar?

But...here is a Super Mario one with not piccolo sound and that works kind of well too, so maybe there is something else with accordion and games? :P

Ha, that brings back memories from the early 1990s! It's got that old time music hall feel as well as the repetitions of game music. Excellent.
