a couple of you tube videos well worth watching 'you tube Brandon Mcphee the dark island' played on hohner gaelic when he was about 14 , and Scottish senior button box champion!. the other is ' you tube Brandon Mcphee The Flying Scotsmaan'' played on a Shand morino. There are other you tube vids of Brandon and he made his first CD at age of 14 and several since!

the hohner arietta piano acc- 72 or 120 bass 3 voice looks similar to the gaelic but may or may not have 'Scottish musette''. Can anybody on here who has one comment?. Otherwise its have a listen to one in a dealers as different boxes of same make and model can have different tuning

It doesnt diminish his talent - but the McPhees are a family of generations of fine Scottish accordionists..
His Uncle is Daniel McPhee who also had a glittering rise to fame in the instrument:

Daniel McPhee - Brief Biography (Courtesy of Pan Records, 2006)

At the age of 10 Daniel received his first accordion from his father, a well-known accordionist on the Caithness scene. Tuition followed from Addie Harper Snr., one of Scotlands top music teachers. Daniel was soon to become a regular performer in his own right as well as taking part in Taste of Tartan ceilidhs in Thurso and performing regularly with the Addie Harper Trio. At the age of 14 he became a proud owner of his present accordion a Shand Marino. Over the next ten years Daniel went from strength to strength on the Scottish Music scene having won the Golspie Mod in 1987 both Lairg Mod and Glasgow Mod the following year. Also 3 recordings to date and still appears regularly at accordion clubs and other venues all over Scotland. Star of the North, one of Daniels recordings has sleeve notes recognising his great musical talents by Andy Ross, Scots on Record Fame, Moray Firth Radio.
