Hi Folks,

I have seen quite a lot of accordions with 3 or 4 or 5 reed blocs but as in 'Spinal Tap' Ive got hold on one (piano accordion) with eleven reed blocs on the right hand side...
Anyone familiar wih this setup? Are all Settimo's like this?
Thanks for enlighting me!

the ampliophonic design held some promise but it is difficult to find
one worth restoring.. they are very old.. nice sound great reeds

it is a great example of the days when Accordion makers took chances and
just tried things because they had a good idea

Also Shorter reed blocks to avoid warping over time. Seems like a good idea but Never caught on I guess.

Yes, all Settimio Sopranis I've worked on are like this. I enjoy many of their design innovations, personally.
