Hi all,

having read an earlier forum post this year, I have been looking at a number of You Tube links with the great Jack Emblow. There are a whole series of great videos with Jack and others - one of which is detailed below - where Jack is playing with Tony Compton.

I see that Tony is playing a Sonola piano accordion but can anyone identify the actual model ? As an aside and really showing my ignorance, at approx.50 secs into the video when Tony starts playing, the sound created is reminiscent of a Hammond organ.

How is that created - through the box of tricks on the chair beside him ??

Thanks for any help or ideas.

Thanks again.

Steve

Tony's box is midi retrofitted and he is using an expander and an amp to play organ sounds.

Hi Jim - thanks for the info. I thought it had to be midi somewhere in there.
It certainly sounds and looks great.
Thanks again.
Cheers,

Steve

Looks like an ss20

Thats great - thanks . A google search of an SS20 certainly seems to show that is the accordion that Tony is playing.

Cheers,

Steve

Actually, Tony plays a Sonola AA20. I have direct confirmation from the man himself.
