Transposition on v accordions

Every musician has their favourite key(s), and often the need to play music in a key outside of their comfort zone.

My old saxophone player delighted in playing in keys that could tie my fingers in knots

With that in mind wouldn't it be so useful if Rowland were to add a couple of buttons on the front panel of the v accordions to step up and down the pitch in semitone intervals.

It would save time on stage and be a lot more logical than scrolling through menus on a small screen.

Also it would be so useful to be able to store transpositions with sets and programmes

For example one might have a set of sounds for playing jazz with a band. And in that band there might be instruments tuned to Eb or Bb etc or when playing folk music a whistle or pipes may be tuned diatonicaly to a fixed scale, so the ability to store ones transpositions would be really useful.

It's been implemented in Firmware 2.0 of FR-8X: you can store the transposition with every User Program.

Hes using a 3X. I dont know if the 3X can do this.

I play a 3x, because the weight suits me for strolling, playing table to table round bars, restaurants etc.

Unfortunately the 3x does not have the facility to store transposition information with user programs.

I think that this is one of the 3xs greatest attributes, it is one of the best and most versatile accordions to stroll with. Unfortunate that it does not have the transposing function that you would need.

I guess you can't have everything.

I get 8 hours playing time out of my rechargeable batteries if I turn off the internal speakers and just use external amplification, and weight is a fraction of some of my Italian or German boxes.
