Along with practicing this arrangement of Under Paris Skies, I've also been learning a bit about improving my recording set up. This time, I've cranked the volume of my internal microphones all the way up. I've also set the gain in the audio interface to the minimum value. I feel that this has made the audio cleaner. What do you think?
Also, I've had a love-hate relationship with reverb. I like the effect, but it brings down clarity. I've experimented a bit by adding two external mics. I lowered the volume of the external mics and added reverb to the track. The signal from the internal mic had no reverb added. With this I'm able to get a little bit of reverb at a lower volume while also having the original track untouched. Is this something that people do? If not, is there a better way to do this?
