Walter was quite a fellow. I met him on a few occasions and he was always friendly and unassuming. He also knew how to entertain a crowd.
I've had the chance to meet him several times, a few at the Kitchener Waterloo Octoberfests and most recently last fall while at Anderson's Accordion Sales and Service:
Front left: Walter, front right Boris, back left is Keith and back right, lil-ole me.
On stage Walter is all business, but take the accordion off and get him in to a social situation and he is a man with a great sense of humour!
