Hello all, and thank you in advance for sharing your expertise. I have an elderly friend who has had this accordion in their family for as long as they can remember. They know very little about it. Could anyone give me information on the type it is and an estimate on its value. Thank you again for any help!

oh that's a nice little basic student accordion between
60 and 75 years old made by Scandalli.. a vast number were
made and are still easily found by this and other brands

it was the most common type of very affordable model sold to parents
as the "step-up" from the learner 12 bass a child started lessons with..
(an example)

very often the child lost interest during the first year and
so never progressed beyond one like you have, and it
would remain in a closet for decades, whereas a successful
child would have used it for a few years then moved to a
serious model.

depending on condition inside, $200 - $500
(still being shiny doesn't mean much regarding playability)

you would get more value out of it if you could interest
someone in the extended family to take this opportunity to
learn how to play it

Agree with Ventura except that if the condition is really bad inside, ie unplayable, reeds falling out, cracked block, etc. which I am not saying yours is, 😢 value drops to $50 - $100 (For me).
