Hi All,
Many of you are Mac users, so you have had this feature for over 20 yrs, but now Windows users ( from Windows 7 up) can now create and manage multiple desktops.
The shortcut is WIN + TAB. You can add many desktops and switch between them by the same key combination. You can see all open applications and you can also see the history of the applications and web pages you visited over the past few weeks. ( Don't use this to spy on your. . . . . ) .
So why is this of interest to accordion owners? If you happen to own a Roland digital accordion this might interest you, especially if it is one of the following:
FR-1x, FR-3x, FR-7x.
It might even interest you if you own a FR-4 or FR-8.
In order to understand what makes up a user Set ( on the FR-7x, user sets are almost the equivalent of User Programs), you have to go through about 6 different tabs.
I find it easier to have all of these tabs open. This can be achieved by opening the Editor in many different instances, and have a different tab open in each instance.
Only one of the instances is used to change and save the Set, but you can see the different aspects of the Set that you want to emulate in the "second" desktop.
As I wrote elsewhere, the Roland Editor for the FR-1x, FR-3x, FR-7x. is usable without connecting an accordion, and if you hear a sound that you like, you can program your accordion to have this sound.
If anyone is interested, I will record some of the more interesting sets that the FR-7x comes with. Combined with the Editor, we may try to learn what makes this Set sound the way it does.
I will try to add some screenshots to show what I just wrote, at a later date
Simon
