If it’s in good working order and has all the components the answer is yes, you could practice without using the acoustic reeds and just use the electronic sounds through a mixer to a set of headphones. Mileage may vary on how effective of a tool it is for practice in this mode. These are getting to an age where reliability can not be taken for granted. If it were me I would look for something slightly newer that would be compatible with midi.
