Hello everyone, can you please advise?
The middle C button is worn down so much to such an extent hat there is practically no discernible texture to the feel of the button.
The 'diamond' is practically worn down.
I can find another very fine stone to glue on the top, but is that a good idea, and what sort of glue?
What do you think?
thank you.

what sort of glue?
Mr Debras is on the money as I see it when he advises you to pry the old rhinestone out and then place the new one in the cavity. Gluing the new on top is almost certain to result in an unstable and unsightly botch.

Almost any "dries clear" glue will suffice; the rhinestone will be in a hole and there is just not much to cause it to come loose. I gernerally use a drop of white glue- normally not ideal for plastics but works fine here. If you use an epoxy or plastic modelling cement the epoxy will yellow over time and be painful if you ever have to remove it later and the plastic cement will make a mess if it gets on anything (the solvents) and grow brittle over time (unless it actually welds to the material by melting it chemically. That might happen for the button itself- but probably not with the rhinestone. If it does with the stone it'll probably diminish the glitter.

Probably a 7mm or so rhinestone will be proper. Pick at the hole in the button so it sits necely with no glue, then glue it.

As you select your stone pay attnetion to the top. Some of the decorative rhinestones will have a pointed top that can really dig into your ifngertip! Others may have a deeply pointed base which can be a pain for fitting flush on the button top. There are almost certainly numerous plastic baggies of faux pirate loot at the craft store (surely a huge array on Amazon). They will all be shiny enough- you want the one that fits and provides a tactile clue without gouging you fingertip.

Good luck- Henry

Thank you for your advice Debra & John

The rhinestone wouldn't budge, but a bit of friction with a Drumel worked a treat.
