Hello all

Can any one help?? Emergency :o

My dad has an Excelsior midi accordion with midivox 3. He had a sticky key so took the lid off to clean with compressed air. BUT...... 3 out of 8 of the wires on the back of the 8 pin socket that connects to the midivox have come off. A red, a green, a black and a bare wire with thick light blue insulation that just slides off.

I dont think its something he has done as the solder looks very thin and weak.

Would anyone happen to know which colour wire goes where? So I can solder them back on. I have taken the end off an old cable to try and match them up but the cable has different colours :hb

Any help would be fantastic

All the best

Matt

Depending on who installed and wired the midivox the wire colours will vary. You will have to trace them back with a multi-function meter. That bare wire is is common ground and connects to the shield in your firing cable.

Thanks for your reply, my dad says it was factory fitted so I was kind of hoping it would be some sort of standard wiring colour codes :|
