A little gem in Paris

While wandering around Paris today I found this accordion shop. It is a tiny but charming place. Danielle Pauly was very friendly and we spent a few minutes talking about accordions. She shares the shop with her husband who sells wine. What a great combination! Wine and accordions! There used to be a very famous accordion shop here that went out of business many years ago and this charming couple decide to revive its spirit with music and spirits!

Hi Jeff, I also discovered this shop a couple of years ago. It's in the 14th if memory serves me and Danielle is indeed a great hostess. It's definitely worth a visit when in Paris.

Today I visited the Bibliothèque Musique de Paris in Le Forum Halles. I felt like Scrooge McDuck in a swimming pool full of dimes. The had many accordion method books and song books. This place could save you a fortune. Many hard to get books are available here in Paris and I’ve spent over $200 already. Today I saved a bunch of money by making copies of the pages that interested me. You can borrow the books if you have a library card (I do) but I was on a different mission today and didn’t want to carry them around with me.
They have a large collection of CDs and vynal recording and equipment to listen to them. Plus a complete library of scores and a room where you can reserve time to play a piano.

I remember Danielle Pauly being one of the headline artists performing at the Caister on Sea (Norfolk) in the Uk Accordion Festival many years ago she was wonderful .
Danielle had a lovely personality a wonderful artist and performer !! All the Audience loved her !!!

That would be a big job. The library had at least 100 books on or about or music sheets. I will make a list of what I bring home with me when I get home. If there is a book anyone is having trouble finding I would be happy to see if it’s available here and bring it home with me.
