Hi there!

My name is David Carovillano, and I am one half of the accordion-clarinet duo, Acclarion, based in Canada. I play a nine row (stradella and freebass) Hohner Gola and have devoted my life to accordion performance. I look forward to following the discussions on this forum. I would love it if you would consider checking out our website and giving our music a listen. Let me know what you think!

http://www.acclarion.ca is the address of our brand new re-designed site.

Dave

Hi David I'll check out you site & video soon but its late here. Best wishes & warm welcome.

Seriously good stuff David. Ive not heard the clarinet/accordion duo before, but how well they go together and what talented players!

I play duets with the viola and love the sound balance that creates. You can check out a few recordings here on Soundcloud.

I havent devoted my life to playing the accordion though, and it shows!

Thanks Jarvo.

Re David's left keyboard, I wish I had learned free bass, but too late now in my development. I'm currently learning Elgar's 'Chanson de Matin' & its really awkward to play some of the left hand sections on stradella so I suppose I'll just have to cheat & improvise those bits that I can't manage, but hey, that's what we do isn't it?

BTW I replied to your message on Soundcloud & it bounced back 'undeliverable'.

Soundcloud is a complete bag of spanners sometimes .....othertimes its great....nice to have touched bases.....

Thanks for the kind words. I learned the free bass system when I was really young (had the priviledge to study with a university professor and pioneer of the accordion in Canada, Joe Macerollo). For a lot of Acclarion music I switch back and forth from both systems, sometimes combining both for unusual chords.

Sounds good, thanks and welcome Dave.
