We're having a little contest, running until the end of March. Please feel free to enter - see the thread in the "I Did That" section of the forum. Don't be shy, have a go!
A subject near and dear to my heart too. Being able to play in the temperament of one's choice without re-fretting is one of the advantages of the violin (and of computer-generated sound) that I wish was easier to apply to other instruments.
I play cello, violin, oud, and a bit of guzheng among others - yes the colors are vast that can be obtained with microtonal palette. My accordion repertoire doesn't include the trad Norwegian, Arabic/Turkish maqam, or trad Chinese repertoire I play on these other instruments. Accordions are a modern and wonderfully convenient instrument - of course the convenience is a trade-off in other respects.
