I've listened to that piece a couple of times now, Dingo.
I am not usually enamoured of Alpine Ooom-Pah-Pah, but this is something special.
The combination of instruments and their manner of playing is quite enthralling.
The audience obviously felt so too - there is a look of blissful adoration on the face of at least one of them.
( The wall decoration at the end of the room would not be permitted within the 'laws of decency' where I live - due to puritanical attitudes leftover from past ages which are in dire need of elimination. )
...and so it goes, pure talent and joy in music making.
Good headphones and AdBlocker needed together with an hour to give it the attention it deserves.
Thanks for leading me down this rabbit hole, wilddog40.
There is something light and fresh about traditional mountain and valley music, especially with a soft musette sound.
There is a pattern I noticed between hilly places and light musette sounding accordions. This might well be nonsense... I am drawn to Bavarian music, Tyrolean music, the sounds of the Alps in general plus Scottish Highland music. Also the music of the hilly regions of Northern Italy. And now I think of it there is a lot of light and fresh sounding Scandinavian accordion music too.
I find traditional styles to be the home turf of the accordion. Turf- ah, can't forget Irish music, especially on a little diatonic accordion. These light styles - like the ones in the videos, to me they are the antidote to serious and heavy sides of life, like going to work every day. It is nice to take the accordion lightly sometimes. I suspect more people enjoy these types of music on the accordion than what free bass system makes the best attempt at Bach or what treble keyboard is better for Mozart...
Oh well, time for breakfast. I think I will have some muesli today.
