Railway maintenance staff in the UK wear orange vests, as they will stop a train better than yellow ones, or so they reckon!

Reckon that's probably true. I nearly missed seeing some cyclists on a country lane, who were wearing bright yellow/green hi-viz gear. They blended in perfectly with the sunny, springtime hedgerows!

The guy was wearing a yellow vest covered in black writing promoting the fact that cyclists shouldn't have to pay road tax. That had the effect of reducing the efficiency of his yellow vest.

I could write a book on cyclists and their stunts, but the ultimate prize must go to the guy on a skateboard who overtook me on North Bridge in Edinburgh, as I pulled out of a bus stop there. Fortunately I just saw him before I accelerated away. Skateboarders tend to wear Lo-viz gear like black hooded tops, so he was a very lucky young man. I got a sort of sixth sense that something wasn't right, or he would have been the victim of another "professional" accident.

Just glad I wasn't thinking how I could post a photo of an accordion on here at the time! ;)

At last! Ended up powering up the laptop, which I don't use so often, and resizing on there. A bit convoluted, as my tablet and laptop share only one cloud-based programme.

Hi Bella,

Well done! That will no doubt be Cloud 9. It's a beauty right enough.

Just discovered that Piatanesi almost went bust in the early 20th century. Bet you're glad yours was made before then. ;)

Wow, I recognize that accordion! Hope you're loving it, thanks!

I've called her Celeste - being Italian for heavenly/celestial/blue.

Glad it's captured your heart.

I bought a Cavagnolo about 1984 that was dearer than your Piatanesi, even then, and I called it "Travail vendredi après-midi", being French (or near enough) for Friday afternoon job, as that's what it was.

I actually went into the shop and tried it out first. It was brand new but subsequently developed more faults than a three legged show jumper. Absolute dog of a box, and I actually ended up giving it away to a repairer, who reported back on even more faults I never knew about.

Cavagnolo went through a bad patch for a while, but I'm sure Piatanesi means quality.

Jozz - is the Bugari the one you are playing in that concert video you posted? Really enjoyed watching that and the sound of your accordion. If I lived anywhere near I would come to watch live.

that is the one

same condensed keys left and right. apart from the grille the box looks identical on the outside
