Hello everybody,

Today I want to share with you a nice experience I had.

At the farmers markets at my town, I found a Hohner Carmen ll for sale!

I was skeptical, because two of the treble keys were lifted up, but I still tried it anyway, and it sounded surprisingly good!

I played a simple Irish tune with it, and the salesman was so impressed that he decided to give me a discount and sell the accordion to me for 40$, original case included.

I think this was a nice deal, and I am pretty I can fix the keyboard size myself. The only issue is that the strap on the bass side is too tight, and it is fixed there with screws so I can't adjust it.

But still, a nice little treasure found in relatively good condition, hum? I might say this is my St Patrick's day gift, haha.

Great find Jaime! I love these little pre ww2 jobbers, although they often need some work. Could be a good project for you. Wait….farmers markets already? We have snow here today…..

Take a look at the wax. Usually at that age it can be quite brittle and prone to reeds falling out now that it’s getting played more regularly.

That's a common problem and fixable.🙂
Already did!

With utter care, I was able to fix the rods and align the keys back. I was concerned that I could break something since it such a delicate piece.

But this Hohner seems to be quite sturdy!

Wax seems good so far.

We'll see how long it last now that I am playing it. It seems this accordion was meant to be played by a child and was barely used.
