Anyone here familiar with the Russian bayan?

You can also buy a small version of the Bayan called Garmon or Garmoschka. They are so popular in Russia that Italians started making them for the Russian market. Last year I bought a super expensive Dino Baffetti "Russian Garmoschka III -- 5 reeds LMMMH - 9 switches. It's an amazing instrument, totally worth the money.. even though i'm not trying to sell it ;)

Wow, what a striking design. I love the black and silver aesthetic. The intricate decoration almost has echoes of the art-deco. Sparkling Swarovski crystals, really nice work Dino Baffetti!

I love the music, really. But those faces during the introduction to "air" by J.S.B. absolutely priceless, everyone of them.
Isn't that the song that was written to be played on a single string of his cello, or viol...?
What is the instrument on the far right during ā€œAirā€?
Its playing melody, not bass, so I assume it is optimized for resonance, not bottom?

The instruments have varied over time. In this video the player on the left is playing an AKKO bayan. The one on the right is playing a Jupiter bayan. The second one from the left plays a special AKKO instrument, sounding a bit more like an oboe (or clarinet) and the second one from the right plays an AKKO bass accordion. Since that video they acquired another AKKO bayan for the player on the right, and they have at least one more special ("timbre") instrument.
