At 2:49 of this Roland V-accordion FR4-XB demo, a tune called Acoustic by S.Garcia caught my ears.
There are many other works of the same composer in this demo, but I couldnt find anything about him in Google. Does anybody know him and his works?

Thanks.

Acon,

Samuel Garcia is a French accordionist who trained in classical music playing C system CBA accordion.

He recently became better known as a demonstrator for Roland.

He is from Beaune, near Dijon, and I must confess Id never heard of him until I saw him demo the Roland FR 1XB in a sponsored French documentary. He is quite a player and can adapt to various styles.

Here is a link to his compositions on the Bibliotheque national de France (abbreviated as BnF).

Dont know where youd get any sheet music for his stuff, as I dont know any of his compositions or who publishes them. I regularly browse through various French accordion websites, and his name rarely appears unless it has a Roland connection.

Sorry Acon, watched the video after I posted the above text. What you are referring to is a short demonstration piece of only a few bars, composed by Sam Garcia to let us hear what the Roland sounds like when the acoustic oboe register is selected. The French word hautbois means oboe in English. Its not part of a full composition, only a short demo piece!

Seems like it Jeff. I remember the intro of Miller now.

The video is promoted by a store called Sud-Claviers, who are Roland's main agent in the south of France.

Ludovic Beier is the other main Roland demonstrator in France.

Still haven't got the Roland bug yet. Thought they were the way to go, as acoustic accordion repairers are scarcer than the hair on the top of my head, but there are still too many horror stories on here. My plan was to bin all my acoustics and go digital, but got the fright of my life when I saw what Cavagnolo were charging for their reedless boxes. Roland would have been a cheaper option, but I think I'll wait another century or two to see how things go.
