Basses too loud. Any suggestion?

I love my chromatic button accordion, but the trebles are overwhelmed by the basses, especially in the clarinet and musette registers. My accordion only has one bass register, so there is no way to make any adjustment. I tried taping the back with blue carpenter tape, with no success. I also have a piano accordion and the balance between basses and trebles is perfect...Any suggestion? Thanks!
