Great numbers of Scottish, Irish, Welsh and Cornish folk will be turning their backs to it.

Yes, all the music was fantastic! I particularly enjoyed the two new pieces by Sir James MacMillan and Judith Weir; so Scottish roots well on display at the service well beyond the piper. Those two composers would be top of my list for Brits to write some great new music for the accordion.
