Can one of you 'veteran' owners of the FR-8X accordion advise on the most suitable bellows settle resembling an acoustic accordion.

I've kind of mentioned this before... there is no real setting that will make an 8X feel like an acoustic, simply because its not an acoustic. We have to come to grips that it is a somewhat unrealistic expectation, but the good news is that unlike an acoustic, we can kind of play with certain settings and find something that pleases us each individually. For that, the best is to try to play with it and make it feel the way we are most comfortable with.

That said, not many like my settings, but I keep a running tab of all my settings on my website. You can look under FR-8X Tech Info. For my bellows settings to give adequate volume without me needing to pull like a fool, and also give me the right level of preferred resistance (for me)

Solution: In the FR-8X MENU 14.1 set:
– Status: ON
– Resistance: +20
– Min Bel: 0 (zero)
– Bellows Curve: X-LIGHT

These might change later, but for now this is what I chose as initially being the most comfortable.

Hello Mockie, I think that most Fr8x "veterans" eventually disregard trying to set up the bellows resistance on the Fr8x to resemble an acoustic accordion because we find that they're different instruments and you don't need to manipulate the bellows as much. You can still get the effects of dynamics and volume without needing to exert yourself in the same way. In fact I have been complimented on playing with bellows dynamics when playing the Roland. So you can try to make your Roland feel like an acoustic, however it's just not the same and you should try to enjoy the new instrument for what it is.
