Bugari or Piermaria

I dont know whether it applies to this specific accordion but I believe that Bugari uses the Silver and Gold names for instruments that are built to a higher standard, including a mano (hand made) reeds. Whether it is Silver or Gold is just a matter of the color of metal parts like bellows corners. Key tops are also in pearl rather than plain white, but you of course do not hear the difference. The a mano reeds are what makes the difference you can hear.

not sure if relevant of not but SEM/PIERMARIA nail the reed plates to the blocks as opposed to BUGARI's waxed in....
I've been fortunate enough to have owned both....and the PIERMARIA's have the tone over BUGARI for me.....

Thanks, Paul. I'm learning a lot here.
Losthobos....great name.....And, right, it is the sound, after all, that makes us move. Kind of a good thing I'm out here, thousands of miles from any accordion store, because I'd spend a lot more time hanging out in those stores and playing them and probably would spend all my money.
