as already stated, it is purely personal between having the m - n--or s -models. having various iv m or vm models over the last 50 years
they date from 1948 -- 1958 with 123 or 127 bass . hohner changed all the bass ends in these paricular models in 1958 to 120 bass
along with some other internal changes . a 1957 model i have has bugari reeds and the sound is a bit brighter compared with the
artiste reed model but overall not too much of a difference.. but one of my ivm models has swedish reeds and they are much more
responsive than the artiste reeds .. there is a little difference in the weight between the 2 models . as a working musician i use
the vm mostly with a full midi system but the choice is really up to yourself..
here in scotland there is allways a good choice of these instruments for sale.
