Let's be honest here, Cory Pesaturo is miles beyond talented. I watched him play next to a classical virtuoso once and Cory just shone through with playful ease. He's the man who needs no score, gets his head down and opens up monster improvisations - just for a laugh. He makes his accordion talk big-time and Cory himself has a big personality, great wit and humour and a real passion for his instrument. I've got to say I'm delighted that Corry is here on this Accordionists Forum. It seems crystal clear that he simply lives and breathes the accordion and has an openness and desire to share his knowledge with others. I hope Cory sticks around for a long time to come and we get the chance to discuss many things with him beyond the digital accordion. He might just be the one accordionist who breaks out of merry old Accordionville and really shows the world how awesome our instrument is.

I've got to say, I kinda wish Cory played an acoustic accordion! Sorry @CPez there's nothing wrong with the digitals, but I'd love it if you played a hand crafted product of Castelfidardo occasionally! I'm really surprised the big accordion manufacturers aren't lining up to make CPez a special model. It'd surely be a big hit.

The great CPez:

Hey Cory, I would love to hear you play duets with the likes of Simone Zanchini and Richard Galliano some time, that would be incredible!

Thanks Walker! Better an interesting personality than none……

Without doubt Cory is a very interesting gentleman - and probably the greatest North American accordionist of his generation, irrespective of genre. It would be awesome to see him playing with other world class musicians.

Now, Galliano is often, and rightly, considered the king of accordionists, and hearing him in full flow is experiencing pure music. I've seen a few world class virtuosi over the years, but Galliano is beyond all the others. Maybe it's the jazz and classical prowess combined that makes him next level. But this young man known as CPez, I think, has the talent, the agility of hand and head to play in the same musical sandpit as the greatest accordionist of them all.

That reminds me... I was watching a video of an Italian accordionist, Simone Zanchini dueting with Gabriele Mirabassi (clarinet) and I thought how well these guys compliment and blend together. The tone of the instruments and their technique and musicality were so good, and I thought to myself... Cory is so good he would fit in with these guys effortlessly!

So true, and as if by magic this popped up on my YouTube feed this morning.

Whilst I know little about North America, this diagnosis from Cory feels right although personally I'd suggest a different medicine. I guess he's spot on to inspire the old timers with the latest gizmos and toaster electonica, but for children already saturated in a digital world, I'd suggest something in complete contrast: air, wood and reeds. Who am I to say as a Brit though! One thing is certain, you can't argue with his unparalleled level of technical facility and intrinsic musicality.

I've always respected CPEZ's playing skills, but there are many good players now-a-days that can play just as fast. He is a little more flamboyant, though and has the potential of being more versatile (he's a specialist in improvisation, which is a huge skill that not many have at that level). It's too bad that he doesn't play Free Bass, though, what a combo that would be!

Yup! But America’s a big country and some places there really is an accordion scene - polka, zydeco, old time, whatever.

I'm sure I had a video years ago of CPrez strolling round the streets with another accordionist taking solos on Bluesette between them, they passed a djembe drummer on a street corner and then went back and picked him up and he joined the wrong walking through cafes and over places...not sure if it was pre electric instruments or not...but a lovely down home video of you G lads enjoying live....wish I could find it again
