On page 76, fr4x reference manual, it shows how to program the top bass chord row for function switching. Same as programming footswitch? But footswitch keeps both hands free! My Korg arranger has a foot switch which I need to start/stop arranger, harmonies, etc.
These function switches on the 4x bass rows can be programmed to start/stop arranger too. Unfortunately, Roland mentioned it may only work with Roland arranger. Maybe Work with the BK7m?

Using the UD-BT01 Yamaha plugged into the computer port on FR4x eliminates the need for a midi in port. Now you have a Bluetooth signal. Will this work with a Bluetooth foot switch pedal? A thing to look into...? Maybe I will ask Roland...or if someone owns a Bluetooth switch like the Irig Blueboard can better answer this?

The USB port on the 4x not being a USB host but a device port, the Blueboard will have to be connected to the IOS or Mac. As I pointed out before, the Blueboard doesnt come with a Windows driver. Once the Blueboard is connected to the IOS or Mac its midi data can be routed to the Yamaha UD-BT01. There is another USB Bluetooth MIDI device, but it is not sold in the US. http://www.midifan.com/modulenews-detailview-19414.htm

I have 2 of the mi.1. I see they have the new style similar to Yamaha. Quicco was first before Yamaha came out, I think. A good company. A couple years ago, I was using them to bridge wireless midi accordion to arranger keyboard. It worked but range was poor.
I just completed programming the Songbook plus app settings that change the accordion registers. There was a glitch for some reason the accordion was sending control messages even when turned off in the midi transmit.

In my case, when I select a song pdf, I just want the accordion to receive and change to the desired user program or set. Example: All songs listed as jazz/swing, UPG 1-1, then I programmed remaining registers 2-7 to that style. Then I did another style that starts on UPG 1-8, etc. A time saver, will not have to think what bank I need, Songbook does the work.
