Hello! I'm looking about a cheap free bass solution , mostly for experimenting with the system, and to see if it's easier to play classical music on it.
I'm thinking to go for the route explained here https://nydana.se/bassmod.html , modifying a cheap (means quite broken) stradella 120 bass accordion I have, or even buying another one specifically for the purpose.
I searched well in the forum before posting, but while i found several references to nydana.se , I haven't found anything about this particular mod.
Before trying on my own, I would like to hear if anyone here attempted such a modification, what he thinks about the results, and even better, if anyone can point out a youtube video showcasing this new system

Converting a stradella bass could a major effort, but many instruments have a converter system built in where one may change from Stradella to Free Base as required.
There are several Free Bass/Stradella systems and even a few older ones with a Free Bass only.
Here's an example of a converter equipped accordion player who often posts u-toob videos:

There are many more.

sure, having a converter system would be better. I 'm asking about this system because at least in Italy a decent somebody's grandfather takingspace accordion 120 stradella bass , with nothing or very little to do to be playable can go for 100 - 150 euros. A converter for a lot more

I have several NOS Giuleitti freebass left sides. They are all three row. I have used the bass machinery to do what you are trying to do, and it is possible. Contact me if you are interested, Cheap.
