Hi there, my name is Monty. My childhood was in the US, but then we moved to Russia (my mom is Russian), and back to the US. Started playing accordion in Russia and still playing it but not professionally (Im good at it, though, from my humble point of view). Btw, I thought that would be great for my daughter to start playing accordion, but my wife wants something more classical, so now Im choosing a keyboard. Wow, USA to Russia and back to the USA sounds exciting. The Russians seem to hold the accordion to a higher level of popularity than in North America, so I am sure that you were exposed to some opportunities for quality education.
