I'm happy to find this forum! I'm saving up to buy my first chromatic button accordion and have been learning on an ipad app, found this forum while searching for fingerings.

Coming from guitar it's fun to get into a community that's so much smaller. I feel like limited resources will be a challenge but also freeing, might result in less analysis paralysis and let me focus on just playing!

Hope everyone's having a great day. :)

Welcome to the Forum. I live in Medina, Ohio (Cleveland/Akron area. If you need any type of accordion repair contact Tim Swanson, Owner of Capital Accordion in Columbus. He was a technician at Liberty Bellows before moving to Columbus. He repaired my Roland FR-8X.

Thanks John,

I had already added Capital Accordions on Facebook hah. I’ve been following Liberty Bellows online presence since I was in high school so that’s very cool that we have that expertise in town. I really appreciate the contacts.

Thank you for the warm welcome. Glad to see some players around Ohio!

If anyone has ever been curious what an iPad accordion looks like check it out! I put sticker reinforcers (like you'd use in a binder) on for some sort of tactile feedback on the buttons. It's not great but it helps scratch the itch hah

I'll be getting a Roland FR1xb in the next few months. Hoping to have a baby soon and might need to practice late at night, plus will give me some time to figure out exactly what I want out of an acoustic accordion.

Welcome.
Re:
"some time to figure out....."
For your situation, that looks like a good plan - it should keep its resale value for when you have found that one, ideal acoustic.
What's more, if you want a break from wrestling the bellows, just switch it off for a while.
PS: Some may say the FR1X is not an accordion - do not listen to them.
