Hello,

I am new to the forum and would like to know if anyone can give me any information about this Universal Accordion. I have searched all around and connot not find any info on the instrument not even a pic of the same model. Also in looking at the reeds I have been told that it may be made by Guerrini. I am not really sure if i have a diamond or a piece of coal.

Thanks for any and all comments,

Darren

There was a company called The Universal Music Co. located in San Francisco, CA. They sold a line of accordions labeled Universal from the 60's to middle 70's. They offered models from mediocre to professional . There line of accordions were made by various firms in Italy. Yours is of Pro quality.

That's a very fine looking accordion.
Do you play it Darren, or are you mainly interested in value? (Either way is fine because it looks too good not to be played.)
Cheers,
Tom

I wanted to learn to play, but after having rotator cuff surgery, it is too painful for me to manage. I am new to the instrument and am having fun learning more about them. This one will eventually be sold after I admire it a little longer. I would like to get a ballpark of the value. As I said before, I have searched all around for more information but I was not able to find anything. And you are right Tom, it does look too good not to be played.

I've seen 'Universal' accordions that were clearly made by Guerrini. .. but only the bass register switches look vaguely similar on this one.
