Hello,

I am new here, but my father recently dug out this old Vivona National accordion his mother bought for him in 1964, purchased in Ontario, Canada. It is in great shape, with original case and bill of sale. We know that the model # is 550 and it was quite expensive at the time it was purchased. I guess it would be considered a student model, and it is made in Italy.

Weve tried doing some research on the National brand but we cant find much other information about it. If anyone has anymore information about it, or a potential value that it might have today, I would be grateful.

Ive attached some pictures for reference, the tape measure is for scale.

Thank you!

<SIZE size="150">Wow! 41 keys in a 13" length. I didn't know such petite boxes existed -This must have been aimed at a really young maestro.
I just wonder how they managed to fit all the treble reeds within that length.
There is no way I could hit a single bass note
A great find. Thanks for sharing it with us.

These are lovely looking little acordions. Vivona is the maker, not National which is the model. Yes, I know usually the big name on the front is the make - but they put Vivona on the front on most models.
The measure you should provide is over the white keys, which I suspect is c15.5"? Which, for 120, is small even for a 'lady' model.
In my (limited) experience compact models still use standard bass button spacing, but given Artelago's comment, be interesting to see the measure from the start of the first bass button over to the far edge of the last on the same row? And same for column?
