Hohner Fake Accordion Treble Key?!?

Did Hohner make accordions with fake treble keys?

The image below shows seemingly 42 treble keys but upon closer inspection it looks like the lowest "e" is fake?

Does anyone recognize this? Either a No.1055 or a Carmen, perhaps?

perhaps it's the air button for the bellows (not)

it wasn't until they started making fatter sharps that they
ran out of room and had to limit things to 41 notes (not)

it seems 7 keys did not warp, the e among them, the only
thing that tells me is, it isn't warped..

why wouldn't it be a playable key ? there are tons of
non-standard things found in these ancient accordions
 
I began to wonder when I couldn't find any Hohner 42/80 production models. You may be right it was non-standard model that escaped their registry.
