Brenda & I have just returned home from a holiday in the Lake District. Our base was a farm about 4.5 miles along a single track farm service road, and it was blissfully quiet.
On one of our visits to civilisation, I spotted a Hohner Verdi III in the window of a charity shop. A few of the keys were set at a jaunty angle, and some of the valves were blowing with every movement of the bellows.
The ticket price for this rather ropey example was £50. Had I been blessed with the necessary mechanical talent (and inclination) I may well have bought it as a project but, having neither the talent or the inclination, I decided to leave it where it was.
For anyone who lives within hailing distance of Sedbergh, Cumbria, the shop is located on Main Street, within 20 yards and on the same side of the road as the public toilets.
