I have tried searching the posts but can find no reference to the best way to clean the spring and bar contacts of my Midivox III system.
In theory they should be self-cleaning?

I was wondering what method others used (not too abrasive if possible) as I get a slight problem when using the accordion after a few days rest and get double-bouncing which can be very annoying. :(

Have you looked at electrical contact cleaner? It's a solvent in a spray can which evaporates very quickly. I used it on the switches of my Hohner Vox4 with no ill effects.

For years I've used a contact cleaner that is very similar to a product that you can find on Amazon.co.uk - It's SRM/TECH Contact-Z Hi-Fi Contact cleaner. The product works very well on low power contacts but take care not to get it on the instruments finish.

Do I have to be careful of anything whilst spraying said spray?

You DON'T SPRAY IT ON it's applied with a cotton swab!!

Thanks for the advice guys you always come up trumps
