I rarely post here about what I played, but 200 arrangements is a nice milestone.
To celebrate this milestone I selected a masterpiece: Brandenburg Concerto nr. 3 (by Bach of course).
I made the arrangement for accordion quintet, which was a challenge because the original is written for 10+ players...

So if you're looking for nice arrangements for ensembles, made with extra care to avoid mistakes, you have a large collection to choose from, at https://www.de-bra.nl/arrangements.html. Everything is available for immediate download and for free (Creative Commons Attribution license).

Bravo. I love it. The wonderful thing about Bach is that his music works so well in transcriptions for any instruments as well transpositions for all keys. Very well done, Professor!

BRAVISSIMO Maestro Paul

What a great arrangement and performance.
So nice what you made out of Bach's non explicitly noted 2nd movement.
The 1st movement I had on my to-do list for long time; I'd simply put it off and take yours - If only I could find few fellow players capable to perform your arrangement.
The 3rd movement ist just awesome - and I know what I'm talking as I did it some years ago.
Ashamed if I listen that old recording after yours.

Congratulations, Paul. Two hundred arrangements is quite an achievement.

actually what i liked best is that you basically contribute your arrangements
and efforts to the greater good of us all

we all can contribute in kind, in our own ways, and i tend to think
Musicians understand this better than most

Thank you for posting this. The concerto is a favorite of mine and of many, of course. I’m not sure I could have ever imagined it arranged for the accordion! Outstanding.

I’ve listened to it several times so far and will pass it to some friends.

New to this forum (and to the accordion) I wasn’t aware of your website of arrangements with scores and so many recordings - what a goldmine! I love to read through scores and suddenly find myself with a lot of forced time on my hands.

I also wasn’t aware of the recent youtube policy changes. What is the world coming to…

Fabulous. I think the engineer could have tweaked the mix to bring the bass line up a bit. The bass in Bach is just as important as any other part and is always written by him to be just as prevelant. I love hearing Bach played by anything!

The volume of the bass line is always difficult to judge. I have listened to the mix on my computer (external) speakers, on larger speakers in our living room and on two different headphones and on all of these it sounded fine. Every playback situation has wildly different volume for the bass tones. But in this piece, don't forget that bass and cellos often play the same (with the bass one octave lower than the cellos), so I made use of the LMH register on my bass accordion to give a sound that represents this mix.
Note that I am not only the player but also the "engineer" (although in terms of "degree" I'm not an engineer). The "player" spent half a day recording all the voices and the "engineer" spent about 10 days on the mix (not full time, but a long time in any case).
