Could you help me identify this accordion. I inherited it from my grandfather and Id like to know more about it, what shes worth and more. Any help much appreciated!

The name of this accordion is Заря 2 (e. Zarya 2)

There is an inscription in the hard case that says;

Ministry of native industry of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic
Leningrad musical instruments industrial association
«Red Partisan» factory
198052, Leningrad, 6th Krasnoarmeyskaya st., 7
ACCORDION CASE
Article 2011r
Price 15 roubles
Manufacture date March 25, 1986

I don't think you got very much for 15 roubles, even then.... :?
I would say it is Russian made, probably Leningrad and very green.

Are there any Russian members of the forum that have some knowledge of this era of Soviet instrument manufacture?
Probably quite a fascinating story.

Your accordion (Harmonika) was most likely made in the Tula region of the then USSR. Your accordion is of a student model quality. The Russians made exceptional quality Pro model accordions but the student model quality is quite low. They were made with plastic parts and soft woods. The good news is that yours looks in good shape even with that popped key. The bad news is that if your accordion has reed plates instead on reed blocks (most likely) any work on a bad reed tongue will require hand fitting and riveting a new tongue. The labor costs for this type of repair will most likely cost more that the accordion is worth.

What do you think it is worj JIM D. ?

Thanks btw for the good answer, very informative

If you check out eBay US or eBay UK you will find similar Soviet PA's are selling for between 275 to 400 USD or 170 to 250 GBP. And then as with older 50 to 70 year old Russian boxes, it's difficult to find someone that actually wants one.

Thanks for the answer JIM D. But no matter what I try I can't find any similar accordian on ebay, what do you search for?

Go to an eBAY site from US or UK and punch in Russian Accordion. There are very many Bayans (button Boxes) in these sites but also Russian PA's
