I want to buy an used accordion, but have no idea which one is better...I found the below links that I could afford at this time, could anyone give some suggestions? I just want to buy one and play, and don't want to repair....Thank you.

Petosa has very good used Sonola accordions A3. But Sonola is my choice

If you pick a brand you can create a search on ebay then check them out when new ones show up. I've only been doing this for three or four months but I have a much better idea about where my brand sits in the grand scheme of things, where a particular model sits within that brand, and what problems they can generally have. The problem now is I find so many right in the sweet spot that I really have to just stop purchasing the things willy nilly.

I'm pretty confident I can spot a broken ebay Scandalli in the accordion $300 / shipping $100 range and be able to get a playable accordion out of a weekends work. But just like all things in life it's always a gamble. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

Thank you, that's really a strategy to buy a good brand accordion, but just as you said "sometimes you win, and sometimes you lose".. I think for the accordion, I may still want to go there and take a look and play it, just make sure it works, lol

Seems I need to update this thread. The good news I bought one accordion from the list, lololol, and now I am trying to pick everything up (from the music sheet to my feeling on my finger, and the most important is my lovely memory of old days when I learned playing accordion, lol)

Cellini accordion,made in Italy
I went there to take a look. The accordion's sound is ok, but it definitely needs lots of repair, some keys doesn't work when I press one register. I need one that could work without any/ repairs, I am not professional and just would like to buy one that can work and play some fun things (no master piece and no formal show). So I didn't buy this one.

Bellini Piano Accordion
I tried to contact the seller, but no reply....pass

Beautiful Vintage Enrico Roselli Accordion - Made in Italy
Yeah, I got this one!!! I played it, the sound is good and it meets my requirement: the accordion can work, and no need to have lots of repair. The bad thing is the key width is 18mm, which means I need to change my feeling on my finger (when I learned accordion several years ago, I used the 20mm keyboard), it is definitely a struggle... Seller is great, he has 4 accordions for me to try, I tried 2 Hohner, they are great, but I can't afford them ($1500 CAD...). So I decide to take the Enrico Roselli. Another reason I took this one is he the last seller I met on that one day, I don't have a car here, so I had to take bus and subway to meet different sellers, this cost me too much time on the way...I need to make a quick decision, the sooner the better... And seller give my an additional discount on it (not too much), but it helped me to make the decision. I am now playing it in my home, lol

Accordion Scandalli Silvana vintage 120 bass Accordions good con
I didn't go there to take a look, it is too far from my home, and I don't have a car, so....pass

Morelli Accordion
I didn't go there, this place to much more far than last one, actually it is in another city...so....pass again

Accordion Ivory Excelsior Accordiana
I went there to try it. The sound is really good but just as the Cellini, it need lots of repairs, even more than the Cellini, the bellow was leaking and it need to replaced. Some keys are missing too, so doesn't meet my requirements...The good thing is the seller's home is near to a huge park, we went there after showing, that's a new area we never gone...

Accordeon Lido model100
I am really struggle about this one. The seller is great and it is near to my home, sound and everything are all great, but the bad thing is key width is 15mm...I am really hesitate if I can play it smoothly although when I trying it, it seems ok for me, but if I play something fast, I really doubt if I can make it.. But his is absolutely a back-up option, I love the red color compared to the classical color (black-white)...well let me continue hesitate on this one...Another thing is I tried to check the history and rating of LIDO (the brand), but didn't find lots of things on internet, is there anyone who knows the brand and its history?

Two of my accordions have narrower keys: I play them in tandem with my wider keyed instruments. You soon get used to the difference!🙂
And, as a bonus, they are lighter and the reaches easier!😄
BTW, I also have a Crucianelli 41/120 two voice baby accordion ( bought for my daughters) with 9 mm keys.

Now, that is a stretch to play!🤣

The photo favours the bass board in order to feature the sleeve fitted on the bass strap (my wife sewed up) to prevent the player's wrist sticking to the strap in warm weather 🙂
The bellows are 12" top to bottom.

Congrats on your decision. You'll get used to the 18mm keys quickly. (15mm would have been a different matter)
Enjoy your accordion. Practice, practice, practice... and then you'll enjoy it even more!
Thank you. Yes, I am practicing it everyday. Incredible, my finger seems still remember the how I stretch on the 20mm keyboard (I didn't play accordion more than 15 years). But anyway, hope I could get adapt to the 18mm soon, lol

It will take time, but you'll get there eventually. I don't play PA any more but I do get piano accordions in for tuning and then play some tunes on them. A while ago I got a Hohner Morino IV M and I was struggling... and then discovered that this accordion (model) has exceptionally wide keys. So yes you do not immediately get used to wider or narrower keys, but you'll get there in the end. (By the way, button accordions also some with different size buttons and spacing, so that problem has not gone away by moving to CBA.)

I think when you playing, you really need to think which accordion I am playing now, and adjust the strech level and finger spance accordingly, lolol.

I forgot to mention the bonus in my last reply, I found I can stand up to play accordion now, narrower key means the less weight :)

9mm keys and 12 inch!!! no way for me, lololol. But this is a really good idea if my future kid could play accordion. I didn't know there is 15mm, or even 9mm keyboard, but it definitely great to know, it is good thing for kid, their hands are still small, it is a nightmire for them to play the music need lots of strech <----- don't ask me how I know it..... :(

For the sleeve on the bass strap, I used it too !!! My mom also fit it on the bass strap when I was very young, it really helps during the warm season (no more sticking, another thing is I don't like the touching feel of leather, I prefer cotton cloth feeling). Emmm, seems you remind me, I need to let my wife to fit the cloth on my current accordion too, lolol.
