is anybody familiar with the referenced model? it is a four star model and says “tone chamber” on the front, which would make it unique and ideal for me. but, what is the overall quality, and are both reeds in the chamber? Im trying to decide if it is worth taking a 2 hour drive to check it out.

Not sure but according to this Liberty bellows video of a similar model it’s not a regular tone chamber but a “passive” style.

The one in the video I sent also has such a badge. It sounds like they have a unique reed block that emulates the sound of a normal tone chamber. My guess would be this was cheaper than building a conventional tone chamber, it’s also my guess that if this design worked as well as a conventional tone chamber it would be more common. I’m sure it has more effect than Titano’s “tube chamber”.

The Iorio " 4 Star model" had (3) treble reeds (no tone chamber) & 5 sets of bass reeds. Some (4) reed "5 star models" could be
ordered with or without a tone chamber.

I've sent a note to Liberty Bellows to correct their Video.

Hello all,

Anyone know what model this is? It’s vintage but it’s my dads and am having trouble finding out. The serial # on the back says 6822. Any help would be appreciated :)

A lot of the time accordions aren’t known by a specific model name but must be described by their specs and features. Jim would probably be the best guy to know if this was a specific model. From the markings on the register switches it looks like it has three treble reed sets LMH.

Thank you Ben. Hopefully Jim sees this to assist. He got back in the 60’s I believe but was trying to find another like and did not have any luck. Here is another picture. I’m not familiar much with accordions other than it’s an Iorio and I know very old as my father has had it for years….

A 50's thru 60's 3/5 reed with machine made reeds.

In fine shape can fetch from $1500.00 to $2000.00 USD.
