Iorio Question

You were fortunate not only to run into some good teachers, but to know what you liked.
Yes, I've been very lucky with teachers/coaches. I had great boxing/martial arts and wrestling coaches and great music teachers. But it all boils down to the student. Either he/she puts in the effort and goes the extra mile, or it's not going to be a fortunate outcome.

I've pretty much stumbled along by myself on all my endeavors, fortunately I've been pretty motivated and had some success. I picked up some good accordion tips from a guy on here, JerryPH. I have the testa dura, you know?

Well, not to get too sidetracked, the beaches on a Saturday afternoon had plenty of girls from the city with their gold jewelry and cornicelli. Ah, youth. More pizzica than polka.

Chicago and their Polish women rival any nationality I have ever seen. Stunningly beautiful and friendly as can be.

Well, considering my wife is of Polish ancestry, I can confirm your assessment.

Who made Iorio accordions years ago? I saw one called Iorio Custom. It had an art deco type grill and the switches were small squares and labelled in Italian. If I remember correctly, it was a 3 reeder but not sure. The keyboard was not a waterfall type and was 20".
I bought my first Iorio accordion from Al Iorio in Inglewood NJ in 1983

My Iorio was from the fifties I believe and I gathered Iorio then had their own factory in Castelfidardo.
I was intrigued by their patented *sort of* tone chamber. Had this one shipped over from the states. Beginners mistake, it was tuned to military band pitch, way too high for modern use... But is was a lovely accordion.
