Hello.
I'm a college student, and I will move to dorm soon. I am about to bring my new 96 bass accordion to dorm, but I have no soft case for 96 bass.(I have a hard one, but it's too heavy to belong with. As I can't play accordion in dorm, I should bring accordion outside whenever I want to play.)

Still, I have a soft case(gig bag) for 120 bass. As I measured, if i put the accordion in there, about 4 cm were left as empty space. The whole length of the bag inside is 48cm, and the thickness of padding is 1.5cm.

Will this be okay to bring the 96 one in the case?

A former teacher of mine used to say, “styrofoam is gold. I.used blocks of it between my 120-bass accordion and the inside of my hard case to keep the accordion from bumping around inside the case. Soft foam works, too.

Styrofoam breaks down into little bits which can do the insides of a squeezebox no good at all.
Quite apart from the more general problems which it creates in the wider world.

Two or three bath towels will take care of the void nicely and at the same time provide more protection. I wouldn't use foam.
